Rev. Dr. James O. Nelson’s Review of Trident’s Flame (Jan 2014):
I can say Trident’s Flame is one of the most captivating
books that I have read in a long time.
The author has a gift of painting a detailed story line that makes you
feel you are almost with Jake and Charlie in Alaska.
I am anxiously waiting for the next book to be published.
Ian Kile’s Review of Trident’s Flame (Feb 2014):
I really liked it that Trident’s Flame was an adventure
story, but also ties in with the character’s faith. What he learns from his father, teachers and
youth pastor become useful in his everyday life, even helping him on his
adventures. His youth pastor, Tac
Matthews (a family friend), his martial arts instructor (Nakada), and his
father all have insights they have been pouring into his life – each of them a
kind of mentor to Jake.
I also thought it was cool that that Jake’s struggles
weren’t the result of some moral failure.
He dealt with the issue(s) and pressed forward to do the Christ-like
thing. It was struggle accompanied by
victory, rather than victory that came after failure. Jake was a good example of following hard
after Christ.
