I'm doing a little fiddling with the series, in preparation for selling it to a publisher.
The last three novels are rather long. Some of that is the book size available in Amazon's CreateSpace. The actual word count for each is comparable to others on the market (Rowling), even those in the genre (such as Vince Flynn).
Shortening the novels a tad will help make them more marketable to the publishers, and possibly more attractive as easy-reads for potential readers.
If mine were printed to a larger size of book, they would approximate any of Vince Flynn's novels, and average-out with Rowling's seven Harry Potter books. They just LOOK large in the size they're in. But having them shorter might be more appealing to potential publishing houses, where I hope to sell them at some point. (Anyone know of a good literary agent?)
So, I'm taking the front-end of Sanctum Threat, and putting it into its own novel. That one will be entitled Smoking Bolts.
The series will number this way:
1. Trident's Flame
2. Smoking Bolts (the first two parts of the original Sanctum Threat).
3. Sanctum Threat (contains only the last two parts of the original).
And so it will go with the other two (Choke Point and Force Multiplier). The rest of the series will look like this:
4. Pulse Blast (contains the first two sections of Choke Point).
5. Choke Point (contains only the last two parts of the original).
6. Fatal Kiss (first two sections of Force Multiplier).
7. Force Multiplier (etc. and so it goes...)
While making that happen, and developing the cover art with Jannelli Roper, I'm also writing the next novel,
8. Escape Velocity.
After that comes:
9. Bone Breaker
10. Depth Charge.
Here's the sketch for the cover of Smoking Bolts. It's the scene when Jake and his buddy Aric are running from the AK-shooting mercenary thieves in China Cove (aka Smuggler's Cove) in Point Lobos, just south of Monterey.
